Micra torque converter failure

My 2010 Nissan Micra with a gasoline engine has a check engine light and transmission indicator lit. The gearbox slips and shifts poorly with grinding noises. Error code says defective torque converter lock-up clutch. Could this be a complete automatic transmission converter failure at 245453 km?

I had something similar happen on my Micra. Was the grinding noise constant, or just when it shifted? Did it feel like it was struggling to find the right gear?

The grinding noise is most pronounced during shifts, especially between 2nd and 3rd gear. And yes, the car feels like it's hunting for the correct gear. Could this be a torque converter issue?

Sounds awfully familiar. That's how mine started. Get it checked at a workshop; converter failure is nasty and expensive.

The diagnosis is a defective automatic transmission converter. Repair cost is 2120€!
