Mileage discrepancy on BMW 5

Hi all, I have a 2007 BMW 5 with 233,121 km and I am running into a problem. I have noticed that the mileage shown on the gearbox does not match the mileage on my car. I have checked with an app and I have a mileage certificate confirming that everything is correct, including MOT, maintenance and breakdowns. However, when checking the gearbox problem, the VTG code indicates oil wear, although it was already changed, and shows that the last occurrence was at 485,736 km. This raises doubts as to whether the mileage on my car is actually correct. Has anyone had a similar experience or know how I could resolve this discrepancy? Thanks in advance.

Summary of the thread

A 2007 BMW 5 owner noticed a mileage discrepancy between the gearbox and the car's odometer, with the gearbox showing a much higher mileage. Despite having a mileage certificate and maintenance records confirming the correct mileage, a VTG code indicated oil wear at a significantly higher mileage. The issue was resolved using an Autel diagnostic tool, which confirmed that all modules and mileages were consistent, suggesting the initial discrepancy might have been due to a software or sensor error.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

It's possible that the discrepancy is due to a software or sensor issue. Start by checking if there are any software updates available for your vehicle's ECU and transmission control module. Sometimes, outdated software can cause incorrect readings. If the software is up to date, consider having a professional perform a diagnostic scan to check for any faults or errors in the system. Let us know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

It is already solved with the autel machine all the modules and mileages coincide, I don't know why carly has more than double the mileage, checking the mileage it is all correct.
