Mini Cabrio audio system malfunction

That's interesting! I haven't noticed any distortion or crackling before the audio went out. And yeah, it's radio silence, the volume control does nothing. So, are you saying that it was the bass speaker in your case as well? What did you do to fix it?

Yep, the symptoms you describe sound very familiar. In my case, it turned out to be a defective bass speaker. Apparently, it's a common issue with these models. If you're not comfortable diagnosing it yourself, I would suggest taking it to a reputable mechanic. They should be able to confirm the issue and get it sorted for you. It's like when your house's plumbing makes a racket; sometimes it's best to call a professional!

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took it to a mechanic and they confirmed it was the bass speaker. Replaced it for 280€, and now my USB audio and radio are back to normal. The sound quality is great again and volume control is working as expected. Thanks for your help!

Hello, I have a problem with my car radio. I can no longer listen to music on FM and AM, the buttons no longer work, and it's the same with both keys. Thank you for your response.

Check the fuse related to the car's audio system in the fuse box. A blown fuse could cause the radio and buttons to stop working. If the fuse is intact, it might be an issue with the radio unit itself. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hey there! I drive a Mini Cooper, and I had a similar problem a while back. My audio would cut out completely, regardless of whether I was using the radio or USB audio. It was like someone flipped a switch. Did you notice any sound distortion or crackling before it went completely silent? Does the volume control seem to have any effect at all, or is it just radio silence?
