Mini Cabrio auxiliary heater issue

My 2014 Mini Cabrio is giving me some trouble with the auxiliary heater. The parking heater just won't activate, and the error memory has a fault stored. I'm guessing it might be a defective glow plug, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone experienced something similar with the heating system or heat control?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Mini a while back. The parking heater wouldn't activate, and I also had an error code stored. For me, it turned out to be a defective glow plug for the auxiliary heater. Have you checked that already? It’s worth a look before you start tearing apart the entire heating system.

Thanks for the quick reply! So, just to be clear, it was definitely the glow plug that caused the parking heater not to work? Did you notice any other symptoms, like maybe coolant leak or issues with the blower motor or ventilation system?

Yep, in my case, the defective glow plug was definitely the culprit for the parking heater malfunction. I didn't notice any coolant leak or issues with the blower motor or ventilation system. It was purely the parking heater not working. I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop to be sure. They can properly diagnose it and replace the glow plug if needed.

Just wanted to give you an update. I took my Mini Cabrio to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was the glow plug for the auxiliary heater. They replaced it, and everything is working perfectly now. Cost me around 440€, but at least I can enjoy a warm car again. Thanks a lot for your help!
