Mini Cabrio Brake Booster Error
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Cabrio displayed a brake booster error on the speedometer, leading to poor brake performance. The suspected cause was a faulty brake booster pressure sensor, potentially due to incorrect brake system bleeding. The issue was confirmed through error codes from an OBD2 scanner, and the solution involved replacing the brake booster pressure sensor, which resolved the problem and restored normal brake performance.

When you say 'brake booster', are you referring to the device that uses engine vacuum to assist the braking force? And did your scanner show a specific code related to the brake booster pressure sensor, or something more generic?

Yes, the brake booster utilizes vacuum to amplify braking force. My OBD2 scanner showed a specific code pointing to the brake booster pressure sensor. Given your symptoms and mileage, it's likely the same issue. I'd recommend a workshop visit to confirm the diagnosis and get it sorted. Replacement parts are readily available.

Thanks for the feedback. It was indeed the brake booster pressure sensor. Incorrect bleeding of the hydraulic brakes after a previous repair was the likely cause, which put undue stress on the sensor. Replacement parts plus labor came to 90€. Brake performance is back to normal.

I had a similar issue with my Mini Cabrio. The error message and reduced brake performance sound familiar. It could be the brake booster. Have you checked the vacuum lines and the brake booster itself for leaks? Also, did you check the error codes stored in the ECU using an OBD2 scanner? That might give you a clearer indication of what's going on.
