Mini Cabrio damping adjustment fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mini Cabrio owner experienced a damping adjustment fault, indicated by a warning light and a bumpier ride. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection to the shock absorber. After consulting with others and considering possible causes like a connection issue or blown fuse, the owner took the car to a workshop. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty connector on the shock absorber, which was repaired, restoring the car's ride comfort.

Interesting! Yes, the ride is definitely bumpier than usual. It's like the shock absorber isn't doing its job properly. Where exactly should I be looking for these connectors? And how would I know if a fuse is blown?

Sounds about right. Think of it like a loose wire on a lamp – it flickers and doesn't work right. It's probably best to get it checked at a workshop. They'll have the tools to properly diagnose the connection and replace it if needed. Could save you a lot of headache trying to find it yourself.

Just wanted to let you know the issue is resolved! Took your advice and brought it in. Turns out you were spot on – a dodgy connector on the shock absorber was indeed the culprit. 95€ later and my Mini Cabrio is gliding like new again. Thanks a bunch for your help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Mini Clubman. Kept getting a damping control error. Does the ride feel particularly harsh, like you're bouncing over every pebble? It could well be a connection issue as you suspect. Have you checked the fuses?
