Mini Cabrio Diesel Engine Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mini Cabrio Diesel was experiencing issues with the check engine light and engine stalling at idle, with an error indicating incorrect fuel composition. The problem was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that a faulty plug connection was indeed the cause, and replacing it resolved the issue.

That's interesting! Fuel contamination could be a possibility. How did you diagnose it with your Mini? Were there any specific symptoms besides the check engine light and stalling?

Yeah, those were my main symptoms too. Ultimately, I took it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and found a faulty connection. I know it's not ideal, but it's probably best to get it checked out professionally. Saves you potentially messing something else up, right?

Just wanted to give you a quick update! You were spot on! I took my Mini Cabrio to the shop, and it turned out to be a defective plug connection, as suspected. They replaced it, and now it runs perfectly. Cost me 95€, so all good. Thanks again for your help!

Incorrect fuel composition, huh? Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Mini. Check engine light, stalling, the whole shebang. Did you check the fuel system for any signs of fuel contamination? Or maybe even consider if there's something messing with the fuel mixture getting to the combustion chamber? Just wondering if you've ruled out the obvious before diving into more complex causes.
