Summary of the thread
A 2012 Mini Cabrio with a diesel engine is experiencing starting issues, stalling at idle, rough running, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a defective fuel pump, potentially due to faulty cables or plug connections. The problem was confirmed to be a defective cable affecting the fuel pump, which was repaired at a workshop.

Yes, the check engine light is on. The error memory also stored a fault. Do you remember if the pump failure was gradual or sudden in your Opel?

In my case, it was pretty sudden. One day the gasoline delivery just stopped. It's like a tap that's suddenly turned off. I would definitely take it to a workshop and have them check the fuel pump and connections.

Just wanted to give you an update. The auto repair shop confirmed it was a defective cable causing the fuel pump to fail on my Mini Cabrio. They fixed it for 95€. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. Engine stalled all the time. Does the check engine light come on?
