I am experiencing a rather concerning issue with my 2023 Mini Cabrio, the electric model. With a mileage of 171364 kilometers, the battery appears to be heavily discharged. The symptoms include an error message displayed in the speedometer, weak and flickering lights, and an error code stored in the error memory. Furthermore, the battery seems weak when starting the engine. Preliminary research suggests a defective battery sensor as a likely cause, with an estimated repair cost of 315€. Could this diagnosis be accurate? Is there anything I can check myself regarding the battery terminals or the electrical system in general before I take it in for repair to avoid further battery drain or vehicle battery issues?

Sounds like a parasitic battery drain. I had something similar with my old Opel. Weak battery symptoms, error messages... Check your battery terminals are clean and properly tightened. A loose connection can cause all sorts of electrical system problems. Any recent work done on the car's electrical system?
