Mini Cabrio Electric Heating Issues

I've got a weird one with my 2023 Mini Cabrio electric, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've been getting an error about a solar sensor fault. The main problem is that the heating isn't putting out much heat. I've read the error memory, and it points to a defective cable or plug connection for the solar sensor, or so it says. Could a bad daylight sensor really mess with the heating like that? I'm looking at a 95€ repair bill, which seems steep if it's just a wire.

I had something similar with my Mini, though mine isn't the electric version. It sounds like the daylight sensor might be acting up. This sensor helps regulate the heating and AC. A faulty automotive sensor can definitely cause those issues. Did you check the sensor calibration? Sometimes it just needs a reset.

Sensor calibration, huh? Where exactly would I find that setting? Is it something in the car's computer, or do I need some kind of special tool to do it?

Yeah, sounds like the same issue. If the error memory points to a cable or plug, it's probably not a calibration thing. The calibration involves the temperature sensor and how it reads the ambient light. Since you're getting an error code related to the connection, I'd say the workshop's diagnosis is probably correct. 95€ isn't too bad to get it sorted. It's best not to mess with those automotive sensor connections yourself unless you really know what you're doing.

Took the Mini Cabrio to the workshop, and it was indeed the solar sensor cable. They replaced it for 90€, and the heating is working perfectly now. Thanks for the tip!
