Mini Cabrio Engine Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Mini Cabrio with low mileage is experiencing engine problems, including failure to start, cutting out while driving, and rough running. The initial suspicion was a faulty ignition switch. However, the issue was identified as a defective fuse in the car's electronics, which was causing intermittent starting issues and engine problems. Replacing the fuse resolved the problem.

Starter motor is fine. When you say 'related electronics issue', could you be more specific? Which electronic component are you referring to? I've already checked the ignition key.

In my case, it turned out to be a defective fuse. The fuse protects the circuit related to the ignition switch. If that fuse is blown or faulty, it can cause intermittent starting issues, engine shut-offs, and rough running. I would recommend a visit to a workshop.

It was a fuse issue in the car electronics. Replaced it for 52€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I experienced similar problems with my Mini Cabrio. Engine wouldn't start sometimes, and the dashboard lights flickered erratically. It could be a faulty ignition switch or a related car electronics issue. Have you checked the starter motor?
