Mini Cabrio Fuel Flap Problem

Okay, I'm officially frustrated! The fuel flap on my 2010 Mini Cabrio isn't opening. The error memory shows a fault, and the message display says some functions aren't available. I suspect it's the fuel flap linkage, but I'm not sure. Any ideas before I take it in?

Sounds like a dead actuator then. It's located near the fuel filler, behind the trim. Honestly, it's a bit fiddly to get to, and you'll need some trim removal tools. Since you have an error code and suspect the actuator anyway, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the actuator if needed.

Took it to the workshop as suggested. Error memory pointed to the lock actuator. They replaced it, and the fuel flap now opens perfectly with the key fob again. Total cost was 210€ as predicted. Thanks for the insight!
