Mini Cabrio Intake Manifold Issue

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2013 Mini Cabrio, the diesel model. It's a with approximately 66586 km on the clock. I suspect it's a flap control problem within the intake manifold. The symptoms include reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing noise when accelerating, and increased fuel consumption. Could a defective switch in the intake system be the culprit here?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Mini Cabrio. Was it throwing any engine misfire codes?

Yes, it was showing some misfires. Did you have the intake manifold flap control replaced to fix it?

Yep, that sounds like what I experienced. Replaced the intake manifold, problem solved. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional just to be sure.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the intake manifold flap control. Replacement cost was 465€. Runs smoothly now.
