Mini Cabrio Intake Manifold Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mini Cabrio diesel model is experiencing issues such as reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing noise, and increased fuel consumption. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the flap control within the intake manifold. A defective switch in the intake system could be the cause. Replacing the intake manifold flap control resolved the issue, restoring smooth operation.

Yes, it was showing some misfires. Did you have the intake manifold flap control replaced to fix it?

Yep, that sounds like what I experienced. Replaced the intake manifold, problem solved. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional just to be sure.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the intake manifold flap control. Replacement cost was 465€. Runs smoothly now.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Mini Cabrio. Was it throwing any engine misfire codes?
