Mini climate control issues
Summary of the thread
The climate control in a 2012 Mini Roadster malfunctioned, with error memory indicating a fault in the rear ventilation flap, causing the AC to blow hot air. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug connection to the component. A similar issue was resolved by checking the flap actuator, which was confirmed by a workshop to be the problem, specifically a loose actuator cable. Repairing the cable restored the climate control functionality.

Interesting! When you say 'similar', was it also the rear ventilation flap? And where exactly is that actuator located? I've been poking around, but haven't had much luck finding it. Is it easy to get to?

Yep, rear ventilation flap for sure. I couldn't find it myself, honestly. I poked around a bit, got frustrated, and just took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quick. I'd say save yourself the hassle and let the pros handle it. Could be the flap actuator itself, but probably just a loose connection like you suspect.

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the rear ventilation flap actuator cable. 95€ later, and the climate control in my Roadster is finally blowing cold again. Thanks a lot for the heads-up!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Mini. The air circulation went bonkers, and the automatic climate was totally useless. Did you check the flap actuator itself? Is it making any weird noises?
