Mini Clubman Automatic Temperature Control Issue

Okay, so my 2017 Mini Clubman is throwing a fit. The automatic temperature control has gone completely bananas. I've got an error stored in the error memory, and the air conditioning system refuses to switch on. My hunch is it's a faulty interior temperature sensor. Like a bad thermostat in your house, it doesn't know what temperature to regulate. I'm thinking it's likely a cable or plug connection issue. Anyone else run into this gremlin?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo. The climate control went haywire. Have you run any sensor diagnostics? A faulty connection could definitely be the culprit, causing the temperature reading to go bonkers. That would explain why the air conditioning refuses to kick on.

Sensor diagnostics, huh? Is that something I can do myself, or does it require special equipment? I'm pretty handy with tools, but I don't have a professional-grade diagnostic setup. How did you troubleshoot the Volvo?

Yeah, sensor diagnostics usually require a decent OBD2 scanner that can read live data. For the Volvo, I had the same code, but I didn't have the tool to read the sensor values. I ended up biting the bullet and taking it to a workshop. If you suspect a bad connection, it might be worth having a pro check it out. It could save you a lot of time and potential headaches.

Problem solved! Turns out the climate control temperature sensor was indeed faulty. I took it to a local shop, and they confirmed the cable connection was shot. 95€ later, the automatic temperature control is back in action. Thanks a bunch for the help!
