Mini Clubman boost pressure control fault

Sounds familiar. I've got a Mini Cooper, same engine probably. I had similar symptoms a while back – check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. Did you check for vacuum leaks? A pressure drop can cause all sorts of issues. Could be the boost solenoid acting up too. Have you noticed any compressor surge?

Vacuum leaks I haven't checked specifically. Where should I be looking? And how would I test the boost solenoid?

Yeah, those vacuum lines can be tricky. In my case, it was a small crack in one of the hoses connected to the boost solenoid. I didn't have the equipment to properly diagnose it myself, so I took it to a trusted workshop. They ran a pressure test and quickly found the leak. Honestly, it's probably best to get it properly diagnosed, could be a faulty pressure sensor too.

The workshop confirmed a faulty vacuum switching valve. Replaced it, and the Mini Clubman is back to its old self. Cost me 140€. Thanks for the input.
