Mini Clubman boost pressure control fault

My 2016 Mini Clubman is showing a boost pressure control fault. Mileage is at 163239 km. The check engine light is on, and power is noticeably reduced. Engine response is poor, and I'm burning more fuel than usual. I suspect a defect in a vacuum switching valve. Thoughts?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Mini Cooper, same engine probably. I had similar symptoms a while back – check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. Did you check for vacuum leaks? A pressure drop can cause all sorts of issues. Could be the boost solenoid acting up too. Have you noticed any compressor surge?

Vacuum leaks I haven't checked specifically. Where should I be looking? And how would I test the boost solenoid?

Yeah, those vacuum lines can be tricky. In my case, it was a small crack in one of the hoses connected to the boost solenoid. I didn't have the equipment to properly diagnose it myself, so I took it to a trusted workshop. They ran a pressure test and quickly found the leak. Honestly, it's probably best to get it properly diagnosed, could be a faulty pressure sensor too.

The workshop confirmed a faulty vacuum switching valve. Replaced it, and the Mini Clubman is back to its old self. Cost me 140€. Thanks for the input.
