Mini Clubman Check Engine Light And Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
The 2016 Mini Clubman experienced a check engine light, reduced engine power, and rough running, with error codes indicating a faulty intake air temperature sensor. This sensor issue was identified as the likely cause of the problem. The suggested solution was to verify the sensor's readings using a diagnostic tool and replace the sensor if the readings were inaccurate. Replacing the defective sensor resolved the issue.

Diagnostic tool? You mean like a car diagnostics scanner? I saw something about the air temperature being off, but I wasn't exactly sure what it meant. What should the temperature reading be, roughly?

Yes, a car diagnostics scanner. It plugs into your car and reads error codes and sensor data. If the temperature reading is way off compared to the actual air temperature, that points to a bad temperature sensor. In my case, that was the problem. To be honest, I took it straight to the workshop after that. Saved myself a headache.

The intake air temperature sensor was indeed defective. Replaced it; cost me 155€. All good now. Thanks for your input.

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Clubman. The check engine light kept popping up, and the car felt like it was dragging. Did you check the temperature reading using a diagnostic tool? What values did it show for the air temperature?
