Mini Clubman Diesel Engine Stalling and Power Loss

I am encountering a perplexing issue with my 2014 Mini Clubman diesel. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and the engine stalls unpredictably at idle. Engine power is also noticeably diminished. I suspect a defective fuel volume regulator, possibly linked to a failing high pressure pump. Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated before I proceed further with car maintenance.

I experienced something similar with my Mini Clubman. Check engine light, stalling at idle, and a noticeable drop in power. Have you noticed any changes in your fuel efficiency recently? What car sensors have you checked so far, if any? It sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

Regarding the car sensors, which ones specifically did you check when you faced this issue? And did you also observe any other symptoms besides the check engine light and reduced power? I want to be thorough in my assessment.

I didn't check any car sensors myself, to be honest. I experienced similar symptoms, stalling and reduced power. If the garage suspects the high pressure pump and fuel volume regulator, I would trust their assessment. Given the potential impact on fuel economy and overall engine health, getting it professionally addressed is the best course of action.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I took my Mini Clubman to a trusted workshop, and after diagnosis, the high pressure fuel pump was indeed the culprit. The fuel volume regulator was defective. The repair cost me 1510€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue and restores my fuel economy.
