Mini Clubman Diesel Ignition Fault

My 2009 Mini Clubman diesel is throwing a hissy fit. Error memory is reporting a "Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted" fault. Symptoms are as you'd expect - engine refuses to start. I've checked the usual suspects (battery terminal, fuses), but no joy. The diagnostic points towards a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this before? Any pointers on where to start digging in the wiring harness?

Sounds like a right pain. I had similar gremlins with my Clubman – kept getting random electrical fails. Check the starter solenoid, had a friend who chased a ghost for weeks and it turned out to be a corroded connection there. Have you checked the earth straps too?

Cheers for the quick response. Starter solenoid is a good shout, hadn't thought of that. Whereabouts is the earth strap located? Is it easy enough to get to without stripping half the engine bay?

Yeah that sounds about right. I messed with it for an afternoon, and then I gave up and sent it to the workshop. They found a similar thing, corroded connection. Best to get it sorted before it fries something expensive. Let me know how it goes!

Cheers for the help. Dropped it at the shop, and you were spot on. They traced it to a dodgy connection in the wiring harness, right near the battery terminal. 95€ later, and she's purring again. Simple circuit break, but a PITA to find.
