Mini Clubman door lock issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mini Clubman has a driver's side door that won't lock or unlock, suspected to be due to a faulty door contact signal. This issue renders the car alarm and automatic locks ineffective for that door. A possible cause could be a problem with the door sensor or a corroded plug. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop, where a faulty cable connection in the door was identified and repaired.

Door sensor sounds interesting! Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could check myself? Also, yes it is happening on the drivers side door.

Yeah, the door latch usually has the sensor built into it. On my Astra, it ended up being a corroded plug. Honestly, unless you're comfortable poking around with a multimeter, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache down the road!

Just wanted to let you know that the workshop confirmed it was a faulty cable connection in the door. They fixed it for 95€. Thanks a bunch for your help!

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra a few years ago. The automatic locks went haywire, and the car alarm kept going off out of nowhere. Have you checked the door sensor? Maybe that's the culprit. Is it only one of your vehicle doors affected?
