Mini Clubman Hands Free Microphone Problem

My 2012 Mini Clubman, sitting pretty, has developed a rather annoying hands-free microphone problem. Telephony is now impossible. Error memory suggests a defective infotainment system. Am I looking at the right culprit here? Anyone else run into this before? Estimated repair is around 815€, which feels excessive.

Bluetooth issue, eh? Had something similar with my Clubman. Voice recognition completely dead. Checked the usual suspects - Bluetooth settings, microphone permissions - you know the drill. Was yours intermittent, or just straight up kaput?

Yep, same here. Threw an error. After poking around for a while, I gave up and took it to the shop. They confirmed it was the infotainment unit. Looks like you're on the right track. Is there any other option?

Straight up kaput. No audio input whatsoever for calls. Speech recognition also non-functional. Bluetooth connects fine, it's just the mic. Did yours throw any error codes in the system?

Just an update: the diagnosis was spot on. Infotainment system was indeed borked. Had it replaced, and everything's back to normal. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The 815€ stung a bit, but at least the Clubman's hands-free is working again.
