Mini Clubman oil pressure warning light and sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mini Clubman diesel is experiencing an oil pressure warning light and a speedometer warning light, with error memory indicating a faulty engine oil temperature sensor. The core problem is suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection to the engine sensor. The suggested solution is to check and possibly replace the sensor connections, as vibrations and heat can cause corrosion or damage. The issue was resolved by repairing the defective cable connection to the sensor.

When you say check the connections, are you referring specifically to the plug leading into the temperature sensor itself? Or were there other areas I should be inspecting? I want to make sure I'm thorough before taking it in.

Yep, I meant the plug. On my Peugeot, it was corroded and barely hanging on. I cleaned it, but it kept happening, eventually just replaced the sensor. But looking at the cost of the repair for your Mini Clubman, maybe it is more than just cleaning. Might be best to just have a workshop take a look.

I appreciate your insights. As suspected, the issue was indeed a defective cable connection to the engine oil temperature sensor. Repair completed, cost 95€. Hopefully, this thread will assist others facing similar symptoms on their Mini Clubman.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot – kept getting a random oil pressure warning. Did you check the connections to the temp sensor? Seems like a common point of failure these days with all the vibrations and heat under the hood.
