Mini Clubman Oil Sensor Issue

Yes, the oil pressure light came on shortly after the persistent oil level sensor error. As for the location, I'm not entirely sure where it is on the engine; I didn't investigate that deeply myself. Given the diagnostic information and your symptoms, it sounds like the oil sensor itself is faulty or it's a wiring issue. If you are not very experienced with automotive electrics, I would strongly advise that you have a workshop check this. The cost you mentioned seems reasonable for a new sensor, so I would advise you to visit a workshop. Hopefully, this resolves your oil monitoring issues.

Thank you for your insights. You mentioned the oil pressure warning light. Did that illuminate concurrently with the oil level sensor error, or was there a delay? Also, where is the oil sensor located on the engine? I'd like to inspect the cable and plug connection as the diagnostic suggests.

I appreciate your assistance and shared experience. It does indeed appear to be the oil level sensor. I've followed your recommendation and taken the vehicle to the shop. The diagnostic matches your experience. The faulty oil sensor was indeed the culprit, and I authorized the replacement. The automotive oil level is being monitored correctly now. Thank you again for your advice.

I had a similar issue with my Mini Clubman although I can't say for sure if it's the exact same year model. For me, the error message appeared intermittently at first, then became more frequent. Eventually, the oil pressure warning light illuminated as well. Have you checked the oil level manually with the dipstick to confirm the actual oil level? In my case, the level was fine, indicating a faulty sensor or its associated wiring. Do you have any aftermarket electronics installed? Sometimes those can cause electrical interference.
