Mini Clubman oxygen sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mini Clubman diesel is experiencing an oxygen sensor heater failure, leading to a check engine light and increased fuel consumption. The issue could be due to a defective cable or plug. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the faulty oxygen sensor, which corrected the air-fuel ratio imbalance. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop, where replacing the sensor can resolve the issue.

Was it definitely the oxygen sensor for you? And do you remember if they said anything about the cable or plug connection?

Yep, oxygen sensor for sure. They mentioned something about the air-fuel ratio being off because of the faulty sensor. Honestly, I'd just get it checked at a workshop. They'll sort it out quickly.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was the oxygen sensor heater element. New sensor and 95€ later, all is good.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Clubman. Check engine light was on, and the fuel consumption went up. For me, it was also a faulty sensor. But I don't know much about car components so I can't really help you.
