Yeah, I had a quick look at the plug I could see, but couldn't really get my hand in there properly to give it a proper wiggle. Is there a common spot where these things usually go bad? Like, is there a specific plug I should be trying to get to?

Given your inability to fully access and inspect the connections, and the error code present, a visit to a qualified workshop is indeed advisable. The cost you mentioned (95€) seems reasonable for diagnosing and addressing a faulty connection. It is plausible that the issue stems from a degraded or corroded connector within the electric steering system. The garage will possess the tools and expertise to pinpoint the exact location of the mechanical fault and implement the necessary repairs. I trust they will swiftly resolve your car steering problem.

Just wanted to close the loop on this one. Turns out it WAS a dodgy connector like you suspected. 95€ at the local garage and she's adjusting like new again. Thanks a bunch for your help!

The electric steering column adjustment malfunction is a concerning issue. You mentioned an error being stored and the column no longer adjusting. Before assuming a costly component failure, have you thoroughly inspected the cable and plug connection yourself, as you mentioned? Are there any signs of corrosion, damage, or loose connections? Furthermore, can you describe the specific error code stored in the system? This information would be most helpful in diagnosing the root cause.
