Mini Clubman sun blind issue

Alright, need to vent about this ridiculous issue with my 2015 Mini Clubman diesel. The blasted sun blind has completely given up the ghost. It just refuses to retract or extend properly – gets stuck in the most inconvenient positions. Of course, there's an error stored in the error memory too. My gut feeling is that the motor of the sunblind is defective. Anyone else experienced something similar with their car interior accessory?

Oh man, that sounds annoying! I had a similar issue with the car sunshade in my old Renault Megane. The car interior got so hot because the sun protection wouldn't work anymore. Have you checked if maybe something is just blocking the sunblind?

Interesting! When your car sunshade got stuck, did you also get an error message? And did you try fixing it yourself, or did you just take it straight to the workshop?

Yeah, there was an error message too, something about a faulty motor. Honestly, I didn't even bother trying to fix it myself. Figured it was best to leave it to the professionals. Saved myself a lot of headaches in the long run. Just went straight to the workshop.

Just wanted to give you an update! Took the Clubman to the workshop, and you nailed it – the sun blind motor was indeed defective. Cost me around 330€, but now the car sunshade works perfectly again. Thanks a bunch for your help!
