Mini Clubman temperature sensor issues

I did a quick check of the wiring, but honestly, it all looked fine to my untrained eye. I got the 95€ estimate from a local garage. They said that was including parts and labor. I'm just wondering, is it really possible for a dodgy outside temperature sensor to cause all those issues?

Yep, it's definitely possible. Modern cars are super interconnected. The ECU uses the outside temperature sensor reading for a bunch of things, including AC operation, preventing the washer fluid from freezing, and mirror heating. If the ECU is getting a bogus reading, or no reading at all, it can disable those systems as a precaution. Given that you've already got an error code and the symptoms line up, and the shop's estimate is reasonable, I'd say getting the temperature sensor replacement done is your best bet.

Just wanted to give you an update. Took my Clubman to the shop, and you nailed it! They confirmed it was a faulty outside temperature sensor and replaced it. Everything's working perfectly now, AC's blasting cold air again. Thanks a million for the help!

Whoa, sounds like a real drag with your Mini. The outside temperature sensor affecting so many systems is a known issue across some models, not just Mini. First, have you checked the sensor's wiring harness for any obvious damage or loose connections? A visual inspection might save you some money. Also, where did you get that 95€ repair cost estimate from? Is that parts and labor?
