Mini Cooper Air Suspension Problems

My 2015 Mini Cooper is giving me fits. The car won't lift anymore, leans to one side, throws up an error in the speedometer, and the ride is incredibly bumpy. Feels like I'm driving a stagecoach. The error memory suggests a faulty air suspension bellows valve. Anyone else experienced this suspension issue? It really feels like a suspension failure.

Sounds like you've got a classic air suspension issue. When you say it's leaning, is it favoring one side more than the other? And just to clarify, when you mention the error message in the speedometer, is it a general warning light or something specific related to the suspension? This sounds very much like a faulty bellows valve, which can cause all sorts of weirdness, but let's rule out a few other possibilities first. Have you checked the shock absorber for any visible damage or leaks? Think of the airbag like a tire – if it has a slow leak, the car will start to sag.

Okay, driver's side lean and a specific suspension error code pretty much confirms the bellows valve issue. Visually, look for any cracks or signs of wear on the air spring itself. As for testing, it's tricky without specialized equipment. You could try spraying soapy water around the valve and airbag to check for leaks, but honestly, you're probably better off taking it to a workshop. Given the symptoms and the error code, it's highly likely the bellows valve is the culprit. Ignoring it could lead to further issues with the shock absorber or even the air compressor. It’s like driving with a flat tire; it will damage the rim over time.

The lean is definitely more pronounced on the driver's side. The error message is a specific suspension fault warning. I haven't spotted any obvious damage, but is there anything specific I should be looking for on the shock absorber? Is there a way to test the bellows valve myself?

Thanks for the insights. Dropped it off at the shop and you were spot on. The suspension bellows valve was indeed defective. Ended up costing around 590€ to get it sorted.
