Mini Cooper cruise control problem

Interesting. Where exactly is the cruise control actuator located on the Mini Cooper Diesel? And how difficult is it to access? I'm comfortable checking the connections myself, but I don't want to start tearing things apart blindly.

On the Volvo, the sensor issue was intermittent, which made it hard to diagnose initially. It sounds like you're on the right track with checking the connections. Honestly, though, given it's a safety feature, and you're getting an error code, it might be worth getting it checked by a professional. Car electronics can be a real pain.

Just wanted to update I took the Mini to the shop. Turns out it was a faulty connection on the cruise control actuator, just like we suspected. They cleaned the contacts and replaced a dodgy plug. Cost me 95€, but at least the cruise control is working again! Thanks for the help!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Volvo – the cruise control would out of nowhere cut out. It ended up being a faulty sensor in the car electronics system. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the cruise control actuator? A loose or corroded connection can cause all sorts of weird problems.
