Mini Cooper Diesel Overheating Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Mini Cooper Diesel is experiencing overheating issues, suspected to be due to an impaired electric fan. The problem may stem from a defective cable or plug connection affecting the fan's operation. A similar case was resolved by fixing a faulty plug connection on the radiator fan's electric motor. Visiting a workshop to check and replace any defective parts is recommended, as it successfully resolved the issue in this instance.

Interesting. When you say 'bad connection', can you be more specific? Did you have to replace the entire radiator fan, or was it just a matter of fixing a plug or wire?

Yes, it was a faulty plug connection on the radiator fan electric motor. The vehicle overheating was getting worse. I would suggest that you visit a workshop. They will check the cables and replace the defective part. I hope this helps.

Just wanted to follow up on the overheating issue with my Mini Cooper Diesel. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turned out to be a defective cable connection on the radiator fan. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. My Mini Cooper had similar overheating issues. Have you checked the radiator fan? The electric motor might be failing, or it could be something as simple as a bad connection. It's like a fuse blowing in your house – sometimes it's the appliance, sometimes it's the wiring. Is the fan running at all, or is it completely dead?
