Mini Cooper Diesel Sunblind Problem

Good point about the fuse, I didn't check that. Where exactly would I find the fuse for the sun protection or interior accessories on my Mini Cooper Diesel? And as for noises, yeah, there's a faint whirring sound when I try to move it, almost like the motor is trying but can't quite manage. Does that suggest anything specific?

The whirring sound coupled with the error code and failure to move does strongly suggest the motor is the culprit. Given your description, it's likely an internal fault within the motor itself. While fuse checking is always a good idea, the symptoms point more definitively to motor failure. Considering the potential repair cost you mentioned, it may be best to consult a workshop for confirmation and professional replacement.

Just wanted to let you know I took your advice and brought the Mini to the shop. Turns out the sunblind motor was indeed defective, just like you suspected. They replaced it, and now the sun protection works perfectly again. Cost me 330€, but at least it's fixed! Thanks a bunch for your help!

Regarding your sun blind issue, have you checked the fuse related to the sun visor or interior accessories? A blown fuse could prevent the motor from operating correctly. Also, are there any unusual noises when attempting to retract or extend the sunblind? This might help diagnose whether the motor is receiving power but is mechanically jammed.
