Mini Cooper Electric Alarm System Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with the alarm system on my 2020 Mini Cooper Electric. The error memory indicates a siren communication fault, and the alarm system is currently non-functional. The diagnostic suggests a defective cable or plug connection to the component as the likely cause, estimating a repair cost of 95€. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem, and if so, what steps did you take to resolve it? Any insights into potential alarm disarm or alarm reset procedures would be appreciated.

Whoa, that sounds eerily similar to a problem I encountered with my Mini, though mine isn't the electric version. The alarm would just out of nowhere go off, or sometimes not arm at all. Have you checked the basics, like the car battery voltage? A weak battery can sometimes cause weird electrical gremlins. Also, have you tried disarming the alarm with the physical key in the door, just to see if that makes any difference? Just a thought, could be totally unrelated...

Interesting. When you say "electrical gremlins", are you referring to a specific module or area of the car? And did the fault detection system point to a similar siren communication fault?

Okay, so, mine didn't specifically say 'siren communication fault' in the diagnostic report, but it was definitely an alarm system issue. I remember them mentioning something about a potential wiring issue affecting the vehicle security system. Honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop you trust. Playing around with the alarm system yourself could potentially cause more problems than it solves, especially with the electric version. They should be able to pinpoint the exact wiring issue and perform the necessary alarm reset after the repair. It sounds like they have a good idea of what it is already.

Took the Mini Cooper to the workshop. As suspected, it was a wiring issue with the siren. They replaced the defective connector and performed an alarm reset. Total cost was indeed 95€. Thanks for the advice!
