Mini Cooper Electric brake pedal feedback

Anyone else experiencing strange brake pedal feedback in their 2021 Mini Cooper Electric? It almost feels like the brakes are wearing out prematurely. I'm getting some really weird feedback, not exactly squeaky brakes, but something's definitely not right.

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Mini Cooper Electric owner reports experiencing unusual brake pedal feedback, suggesting potential premature brake wear. The issue is described as not exactly squeaky but noticeably abnormal. Possible causes include low brake fluid levels or more serious problems affecting the brake system, such as undervoltage leading to premature disc brake wear. The recommended solution is to have the brake system inspected by a professional, which in this case led to replacing brake shoes and flushing the brake fluid.

Strange feedback from the brake pedal, you say? I had something similar happen with my Mini, though it wasn't exactly squeaky brakes. Felt almost... spongy? Have you checked your brake fluid levels? Also, when was the last time you had your brake system inspected?

Right, so the brake fluid reservoir should be under the hood, usually a transparent container with a minimum and maximum line marked on it. If it's low, that could be the issue. But, honestly, with only km on your Mini Cooper, and given the spongy feel you described, I'd be inclined to take it to a workshop. Could be something more serious affecting the disc brakes or the whole brake system.

Spongy is a good way to describe it. I haven't checked the brake fluid, to be honest. Where exactly would I check that, and what should I be looking for? As for the brake system, I haven't had it inspected since I bought the Mini Cooper, which has about km on it now.

Just wanted to give an update. Took my Mini Cooper to the workshop, and it turned out to be undervoltage causing premature wear on the disc brakes. They replaced the brake shoes and flushed the brake fluid. Cost around 240€. Thanks for the help!
