Mini Cooper Electric Sunroof Issue

Alright, so I'm having a bit of a headache with my 2023 Mini Cooper Electric. It's got about 49094 km on it. Basically, I'm getting a 'sunroof not initialized' error. The sunblind gets stuck, and the convertible top won't budge. The sunblind also refuses to retract or extend. I'm suspecting it might be related to some coding that was done on the vehicle, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Anyone have experience with this?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Mini Cooper Electric is experiencing a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind to get stuck and the convertible top to be unresponsive. The issue is suspected to be related to recent coding changes. A suggested solution is to perform a sunroof reset and recalibration, which typically requires specialized diagnostic tools. The problem was resolved at a workshop through a sunroof reset and calibration, confirming it was a coding issue.

Greetings. I encountered a similar automobile sunroof malfunction with my Mini Cooper. Have you attempted a vehicle sunroof reset? The sunroof control module might require recalibration following coding modifications. What specific coding changes were implemented prior to the issue arising?

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not entirely sure what coding was done, as I had someone else do it. Is there a specific procedure for a sunroof reset, or is it something that requires specialized equipment?

Indeed, the issue appears consistent with a coding-related malfunction affecting the sunroof control. A proper sunroof reset often necessitates specialized diagnostic tools. I would recommend consulting a qualified workshop to rectify the configuration. Attempting self-correction without appropriate expertise could potentially exacerbate the problem.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. Took the Mini Cooper to the shop, and it turned out to be a simple coding issue, just like you thought. They did a sunroof reset, sunroof calibration, and all is well again. Cost me 75€, so not too bad. Thanks for the advice!
