Mini Cooper engine issues

Experiencing some concerning issues with my 2020 Mini Cooper. The check engine light keeps coming on, acceleration is jerky, and there's a whistling noise coupled with loud hissing during acceleration. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption and reduced engine power. I suspect it might be a bad boost pressure sensor, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. My Mini Cooper had similar symptoms engine light, jerky acceleration, and hissing noises. Have you checked for boost leaks around the intake manifold? A leak can definitely cause those issues. What year is your Mini?

Thanks for the quick reply. Regarding boost leaks, are there any specific areas around the intake manifold I should be focusing on when inspecting? Also, when you mention 'boost', are you referring to the increased air pressure created by the turbo?

Right, 'boost' is the pressure from the turbocharger. As for specific areas, check the hoses and connections leading to and from the intake manifold. That's where I eventually found my issue. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, a workshop can pinpoint it quickly.

Appreciate the insight. Turns out it was indeed the turbo boost pressure sensor. I had a hunch it was a cable issue and after a diagnostic check, the repair confirmed a faulty connection. 95€ later, and the Mini Cooper is back to its old self.
