Mini Cooper Overheating and Coolant Leak

So my 2012 Mini Cooper is throwing a fit. Check engine light, overheating, and I'm finding coolant under the car. Seems like the cooling system is under a lot of pressure. I'm suspecting a control unit communication error, maybe a wiring issue. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo – kept getting weird sensor readings. Check the CAN bus wiring, especially around the engine bay. Any signs of corrosion?

CAN bus wiring, got it. Where exactly should I be looking? Is there a common point of failure or something?

Yeah, on the Volvo it was a corroded connector near the ECU. The data link was getting corrupted, causing all sorts of problems. Honestly, with those symptoms, it's probably best to get it properly diagnosed. Could save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up it was indeed a control unit communication fault. The garage traced it to a dodgy connection. 95€ later and she's purring again. Thanks for the help!
