Mini Cooper Overvoltage Errors

Okay, gearheads, I'm at my wit's end with my 2011 Mini Cooper. It's throwing overvoltage errors like there's no tomorrow, mileage is at 74877 km. The car ECU is going bonkers, I'm getting a million fault memory entries, and various systems are failing. The battery seems weak when starting, and it's just a general electrical malfunction mess. I'm suspecting a heavily discharged or defective car battery, but before I start throwing money at parts, has anyone seen something like this before? Any ideas what could be causing this overvoltage madness?

Sounds like a nasty electrical issue. I had something similar happen with my Mini Cooper a while back. Tons of weird errors popping up, and the battery seemed weak. Have you checked your alternator? A failing alternator can cause overvoltage and fry your car ECU. Also, a bad car battery can cause a lot of strange electrical problems in these cars.

Yep, same symptoms. Lots of error codes, and it all pointed back to the battery. If the alternator checks out okay, I'd definitely focus on the car battery. Honestly, unless you're comfortable doing some serious electrical troubleshooting, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. Electrical issues can be a real pain to diagnose correctly.

Just wanted to give you an update! You were totally right. Turns out the battery in my Mini Cooper was causing all sorts of chaos. I got it replaced for 290€ and the overvoltage errors are gone, car electronics are now working properly and she's starting like a champ again.
