Interesting! Where exactly is the light sensor located, and how did you figure out that was the culprit? Any specific things I should look for?

Yes, the sensor is located near the rearview mirror, behind the windshield. The dealer found it by checking the car components and error memory, and confirmed it was the sensor. You can try inspecting it for any visible damage, but I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm, before replacing any car parts.

Got it sorted! It was indeed the rain-light sensor. The workshop confirmed bubbles had formed under the gel pad, just as suspected. New sensor installed, cost me 62€, and everything's working perfectly again. Thanks for the heads up, you saved me a ton of diagnostic time!

I had a similar problem with my Mini Cooper's auto headlights. It was driving me nuts! Did you check the light sensor itself? It's a common issue with these cars. The auto headlights and wipers went haywire.
