Codes? I don't have a code reader. Where exactly should I be looking on the battery? I'm not super familiar with car stuff, so ELI5 please!

Yeah, you'll need a code reader to see what the ECU is reporting. But before that, pop the hood and look at the battery terminals. Make sure the clamps are tight and there's no corrosion. If they're loose, that could definitely be your problem. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a workshop, they should sort it quickly.

Just wanted to update, took the Mini to the shop. Turns out the battery cable connections were loose. They cleaned them up and tightened everything. Starts right up now! Cost me 155€, not too bad all things considered. Thanks for the heads up about checking that first!

Sounds like a real headache! I had a similar issue with my Mini. Random engine stalling, and sometimes it just wouldn't start. I'd check your battery connections first. A loose connection can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems that mess with the ECU and fuel injection. Is it throwing any codes?
