Mini Countryman boost pressure control fault

I present a diagnostic query concerning my 2019 Mini Countryman, gasoline variant, currently exhibiting 88667 km. The malfunction manifests as a boost pressure control fault, accompanied by the illumination of the check engine light, a perceptible reduction in engine power, diminished engine response, and an increase in fuel consumption. Preliminary analysis suggests a potential defect within a vacuum switching valve. I welcome insights regarding potential causes, diagnostic methodologies, and relevant repair strategies. Could this be related to compressor surge, pressure drop, boost solenoid, vacuum leak or a faulty boost controller?

I had something similar happen with my Countryman. Check engine light, felt like I was towing a boat anchor. Did you notice any weird sounds? Like a whooshing when you accelerate?

An intriguing hypothesis. Can you elaborate on the specifics of your experience? Did your symptoms manifest similarly, and what diagnostic procedures were employed to identify the root cause?

Yeah, pretty much the same. The whooshing sound was a vacuum leak. It's like trying to drink through a straw with a hole in it. Eventually, I took it to a workshop. They ran some tests and said it was a bad valve. Best to get it checked professionally.

Acknowledged, your input is appreciated. Subsequent diagnosis confirmed a faulty vacuum switching valve. Replacement was executed at a cost of 140€. System functionality has been restored to nominal parameters.
