Mini Countryman diesel engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mini Countryman diesel is experiencing issues such as a persistent check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption. Diagnostics suggest a faulty manifold pressure sensor, potentially due to a vacuum leak. Suggestions include checking for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold and inspecting hoses for damage. A smoke test at a workshop is recommended for accurate diagnosis and resolution.

Interesting analogy. You mentioned vacuum leaks. Can you elaborate on where specifically I should inspect, given the intake manifold pressure sensor issue? I'm trying to trace the root cause before simply replacing the sensor.

In my case, it turned out to be a cracked hose near the intake manifold. The mechanic found it quickly with a smoke test. Honestly, without proper equipment, it's tough to pinpoint the exact location of a vacuum leak. I would suggest a workshop visit for a thorough diagnosis to prevent further issues.

Confirmed faulty manifold pressure sensor, apparently caused by a vacuum leak. Replacement completed, total cost 235€. Thanks for your insight; it proved invaluable.

I had something similar with my Mini, not the Countryman, but the standard Hatch. Check engine light and sluggish performance. It felt like driving through treacle. Have you checked for any obvious vacuum leaks around the intake manifold or any damaged hoses? A faulty car sensor could definitely trigger those symptoms.
