Concerning the engine misfire you mentioned, at what point would it be expected to occur, and would you say lack of engine combustion is likely? Also, what sort of decrease in fuel efficiency would be considered significant?

Right, well if you've got an engine light and an error code pointing to the glow plugs, and the preheating lamp is staying on, then yeah, it really does sound like a glow plug. As for the misfire and fuel efficiency, those are common symptoms when the engine struggles to start properly because of bad glow plugs. I'd suggest getting it checked by a mechanic as soon as you can.

Understood, I appreciate the confirmation. Took it to the workshop as suggested. Diagnosis was indeed a defective glow plug. Replacing the faulty part resulted in a total expenditure of 440€. The engine light is now off, and the preheating lamp is functioning as expected. Thanks for your help.

Hmm, that sounds like a proper headache. Is the engine misfiring at all, especially when it's cold? And have you noticed any change in your fuel efficiency recently? Just trying to get a better picture.
