Mini Countryman Diesel Runs Rough

I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2022 Mini Countryman diesel is acting up. Starts rough, feels like it's lost power, and the error memory is screaming about a defective camshaft sensor. I'm thinking it's just a bad cable or plug connection, but this is frustrating.

I had something similar happen with my Countryman. Check the crankshaft position sensor. When that went bad, I had rough starts and some power loss. It's like the engine didn't know when to fire correctly. Is the check engine light on?

Interesting. Was it just a bad sensor, or were there timing issues too? I'm seeing some chatter online about engine misfire being linked to camshaft problems.

Misfires are no fun. In my case, it was just the sensor itself that was faulty. I didn't have any timing issues, but if the camshaft sensor is sending bad data, it could throw off the timing and cause misfires. Since you suspect a cable or plug, check those first. But given the symptoms and the error code, it might be best to let a workshop take a look.

Thanks for the insight. The camshaft sensor cable was the culprit. 95€ at the workshop and she's purring. Appreciate the help.
