Mini Countryman Diesel Uneven Idling

My 2015 Mini Countryman diesel is exhibiting some concerning behavior. I'm getting uneven idling and an error is stored in the error memory which, after some digging, suggests a defective engine mount. From what I can gather, a likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection to the component. Has anyone encountered similar issues? Before I start tearing things apart, any suggestions on where to focus my attention? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary costs, but I'm estimating around 95€ for the repair.

Ultimately, the issue was resolved by cleaning the contacts and replacing a faulty plug, costing 95€.

Uneven idling and error codes on a diesel Countryman sounds familiar! I had similar vibration issues a while back. Check the engine mount itself, especially the rubber mount. I remember reading about mount failure being common, and it definitely caused some shaking in my ride. I would also inspect the mounting bracket for cracks. Have you checked those?

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'connection to the engine mount', are you referring to the electrical connector? The error message I'm getting points to a possible issue there, but I wasn't sure if that could actually cause the symptoms I'm experiencing. I'm thinking I'll try and check the cable and plug connection and clean them to see if that helps, but wanted to confirm that was what you were referring to.

Yeah, exactly, I was referring to the electrical connector. Cleaning the contacts is a good first step. Honestly, though, my experience suggests that these things rarely fix themselves permanently. If the error persists, just bite the bullet and take it to a proper workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly and replace the mount if necessary. In my case, ignoring it only led to further issues down the road.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took the Countryman to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective connection to the engine mount. They cleaned the contacts and replaced a faulty plug. Total cost was 95€. Thanks again for the insight!
