Mini Countryman Door Handle Electronics Issue

I am encountering an issue with the door handle electronics on my 2018 Mini Countryman Hybrid. The keyless access functionality has ceased, and the error memory indicates a fault. Based on my assessment, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection within the component. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with their car door? I anticipate a repair cost of approximately 95€, and I would appreciate any insights or suggestions you may have regarding potential troubleshooting steps.

I had a similar problem with my Countryman. The keyless entry stopped working intermittently, and then completely failed on the driver's side. Did you check the door actuator itself? Is there any obvious damage to the wiring harness going into the car door? The sensor issue might not be the entire problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience. When you mention the door actuator, are you referring to the component within the car door that physically locks and unlocks it, or something else related to the door electronics? I'm trying to pinpoint where to start further inspection before potentially replacing any parts.

Yes, I was referring to the component within the car door that handles the locking mechanism. If the central locking is functioning properly from the inside, then the issue is likely with the door switch or the wiring leading to it, as you suspected. The error code points to that. Honestly, diagnosing those intermittent sensor issues can be a pain. Unless you have experience with automotive electronics, I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional. It will probably save you time and potentially prevent further damage.

I appreciate you confirming this issue. I took it to a workshop today, and they identified a faulty door switch. The repair cost was 95€, as expected. Keyless access is now functioning correctly again.
