Mini Countryman engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mini Countryman is experiencing engine issues, including failure to start, stalling at idle, a check engine light, rough running, and increased fuel consumption. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel pump. Error codes indicate fuel delivery issues, and it is suggested to check for loose connections or faulty wiring before replacing the fuel pump. The issue was resolved by fixing a faulty connector on the fuel pump.

Error codes pointed towards fuel delivery issues, specifically the fuel pump. You reckon it could be something simple like a loose connection, or am I looking at a new fuel pump?

Yep, fuel pump was the culprit for me too. The error codes can be misleading. Before shelling out for a new pump, get the wiring and connectors checked. A bad connection can cause all those symptoms. Take it to a workshop to be sure!

Just wanted to update you you were spot on! Took it in, and it turned out to be a dodgy connector on the fuel pump. 95€ and she's purring again. Cheers for the help!

Good evening. I have a 2011 Mini Countryman, 143hp. It's giving me ignition problems... the dashboard lights up, the stereo works... the starter motor works, but the engine won't start!! What could be the problem? Thanks a lot, good evening.

Good evening. Since your starter motor is working, let's start by checking the battery voltage to ensure it's providing enough power. If the battery is fine, inspect the fuel system for any blockages or issues with the fuel pump. Also, consider checking the ignition system, including spark plugs and ignition coils, for any faults. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!

Sounds similar to a problem I had with my Countryman. Started with the engine stalling at idle and the check engine light coming on intermittently. Definitely check the fuel system. Have you had any luck pulling the error codes?
