Fuses were the first thing I checked, all appear intact. Could a faulty sensor somewhere else in the system trigger a brake light error, even if the brake light itself is fine?

Okay, fuses checked. A faulty sensor causing the issue indirectly is possible, I guess. Honestly, with it being so new, I'd be inclined to take it to a workshop. They have the proper diagnostic tools and know where to look. Could save you a lot of headache.

Thanks for the input. Turns out it was indeed a personal error. The dealership cleared the error memory, and the brake lights are functioning as expected. No cost involved.

Whoa, brake light failure on a practically new Countryman? That's wild! I'm no mechanic, but electrical issues can be a real pain. Did you check the fuses? Maybe it's something simple like that?
