Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mini Countryman Hybrid experienced significant engine power loss accompanied by an error message. The issue was diagnosed as a defective engine control unit, with a faulty main relay identified as the likely cause. A workshop confirmed the diagnosis through car diagnostics, and the problem was resolved by replacing the main relay for 120€.

System reset? How exactly would I do that? And how did you pinpoint it to a relay problem? Was it just guesswork, or did you use some kind of fancy car diagnostics tool?

The system reset I mentioned is basically just disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the car's computer module but it's a long shot and might not solve the underlying issue. As for how I knew, I had similar symptoms and error codes and a mechanic familiar with Minis suggested it. I didn't do the car diagnostics myself. Honestly, given your symptoms and the error stored in the error memory, 120€ sounds reasonable for a relay replacement. I'd probably get it done at the workshop to avoid causing more issues with the engine control.

Just wanted to give a quick update. You were spot on. Took my Mini to the workshop. They ran car diagnostics and confirmed the main relay was the culprit. Paid 120€ and it's all fixed. Thanks a bunch for your help!

Hey there. I had a similar issue with my Mini a while back. Reduced engine power and an error code, does that sound about right? For me, it turned out to be a faulty relay affecting the engine control unit. Basically, the computer module that manages the engine's performance wasn't getting the right signals. It's worth checking out. Have you tried a system reset?
