Mini Countryman Radio Reception Problems

The error is consistent, happens all the time and with any station that I try to tune into. It's like the radio is completely dead, shows an error message and there's no sound coming out, even if I try to play music from my phone via bluetooth. You mentioned a faulty antenna, what are the chances that's the culprit? I did check the connections, everything looks ok.

Given that it's consistent across all stations and even impacts Bluetooth, I'd say a defective antenna is a strong possibility, especially since you've checked the obvious connections. The antenna is more than just a wire; it's part of the vehicle electronics system, and if it fails, it can cause those kinds of issues. The error code confirms there is an issue in the error memory. To be sure, taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis is the next step. They can use specialized equipment to test the antenna and the radio module. Hopefully, it's just the antenna, and the repair cost of 255€ sounds about right for that type of repair.

Just wanted to give you an update. Took my Countryman to the workshop, and you were spot on! Defective antenna. They replaced it, and the radio is working perfectly again. Cost me 255€, but at least the annoying static noise is gone. Thanks again for your help!

That sounds frustrating! A few things could be happening here. First, is the error message consistent? Does it happen only in certain locations or all the time? And does it affect all radio stations, or just some? It could be a loose connection somewhere, or the antenna itself could be faulty. Think of it like a leaky pipe – the water (signal) isn't getting through properly. Has anything changed recently, like a car wash or any work done on the vehicle electronics? More information will help narrow it down.
