Mini Countryman solar sensor fault

I am experiencing a solar sensor fault in my 2016 Mini Countryman diesel. The error memory contains a relevant entry, and the heating output is noticeably low. Diagnosis suggests a defective cable or plug connection. Estimated repair cost is 95€. Has anyone encountered a similar problem involving this car sensor?

Interesting issue. I had something similar with my Audi A4 – a faulty automotive sensor impacting climate control. The daylight sensor had a bad connection. Is the error intermittent, or is it always present? I would suggest that you check the fuses first!

The error is consistently present upon diagnostic scanning. Regarding the fuses – are there specific fuses related to the solar sensor or the heating system's control module that I should prioritize checking?

Yes, mine was consistent too. I ended up taking it to a workshop because I didn't want to mess around with the wiring. Given the low cost, it might be the easiest way to go.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've had the solar sensor replaced, as diagnosed. The heating is performing optimally again. Cost was precisely as estimated.
